Hailing from London, Simian Mobile Disco is James Ford and James Anthony Shaw, and were formed from the ashes of Sibian in 2005.
For the past few years they have been busy getting praise for remixing tracks for the likes of Bjork, CSS, The Go! Team, Muse and Klaxons, as well as releasing singles of their own including It’s The Beat and the awesome Hustler featuring vocals by New York singer Char Johnson.
To get an idea of the different sides of their analogue driven electronic dance music, check out the official Simian Mobile Disco My Space page where you can listen for free to singles Hustler, I Believe and It’s the Beat.
The dynamic duo are playing a DJ set at Fabric this Saturday (22nd February) before embarking on a noth American tour where they will be playing clubs in Chicago, Toronto, Seattle, New York San Francisco, among others.
See www.SimianMobileDisco.co.uk for a full list of dates.
There are rumours of a further collaboration with Arctic Monkeys whose second album James Ford produced in late 2006.
