Dr Meaker is Clive Meaker – Bristol’s answer to Mark Ronson, a man who listens to a wide range of influences and collaborates with others to give this debut album an eclectic rich blend of genres including drum & bass, reggae, ska, soul and even a touch of jazz.
After performing with a 7-piece live band at UK festivals Glastonbury, Glade, Bestival and at the BBC Maida Vale Studios this summer, this month Dr Meaker releases A Lesson From The Speaker .
The album has 10 tracks including the singles Moving & Grooving which was released in 2007 to much critical acclaim and his latest single – Bad Boy Calling which was released earlier this month.
The album also includes a great track, Need Love, using The Korgis 1980’s pop classic Everybody’s Gotta Learn Sometime with a smooth soul jazz groove and the sweet soulful voice of Lorna King.
A Lesson From The Speaker by Dr Meaker is out now.
The Bad Boy Calling single includes remixes by False Flag, Rob Smith and Dubrovnik.
