In turn the label has also introduced the dance music community to a host of new artists like Markus Fix, SIS, Robert Dietz, Lemos and, of course, Nick Curly.
On Sunday 29th August Nick Curly will arrive in London to showcase the skills and sounds that have captured hearts and minds around the world. He’ll be joined by Cécille’s London based star Anthea, with further support from two of the hottest DJs on the London underground scene, Fuse’s Chrissy Maranello and Rossko from Cerca Trova.
So no matter where/how you spend your day, head east in the evening to Cargo, where the railway arches will be rocking at this hot hot hot carnival showcase for one of the biggest labels in the world today!
Nick Curly
As the man behind not just Cécille, but also Cécille Numbers and 8bit, Nick Curly can look back on a very satisfying few years. Not that he shows any signs of slowing down. He keeps up an intense touring schedule, which this summer includes a residency at Space in Ibiza. What you’re treated to with a Nick Curly performance is an enchanting hypnotic style, with drawn out mixes, where one song is perfectly beat matched before slowly slipping into another. His recent endeavors show a man clearly still ascending with a release on Cocoon, and an awesome Essential Mix. His set at this showcase will no doubt feature the sublime jackin’ grooves and percussive basslines which he conjures effortlessly to induce delirium.
Anthea
Cécille’s London based star has diligently worked her way up through the underground scene, always developing, learning, and improving, to the point where she is now inspiring others. Her keen sense of mood and groove, and sleekly funk-driven productions have seen her become hot property, with not just Cécille but also respected labels like Freak n’Chic, Supplement-Facts and Tuning Spork clamoring for her work, while Ibiza Voice also sought her out to mix one of their legendary podcasts. Behind the decks she is in full control, summoning up her natural soul and depth to emit a sound that sways between house and techno; always deep, tribal, and bassline fuelled, with an effortless style.
Chrissy Maranello
Dedicated, talented, and clearly one to watch. Respect is due for the care Chrissy Maranello has for his craft. With a natural affinity for house music, Chrissy has always made an impact as a DJ, and built up a loyal following at his parties down the years. Now as he looks to take things to the next level, he is working hard in the studio, developing his skills and his sound. His sets at Fuse and for his own Unwind parties over the past 18 months show a young man with much to look forward to, who transmits a credible sound with soul, depth, and bags of character.
Rossko
Over the past few years Rossko has become an increasingly regular feature at the best parties in and around the London scene like Fuse, and his own quarterly clandestine gathering Cerca Trova. This year he has really honed his sound and this has seen him play for Minus at Ministry, jet out to play in Barcelona, and will be making his debut at Space in Ibiza later this month. Settling in the deeper more intelligent areas of house and techno, his DJ sets are well crafted, and have featured alongside some of the foremost artists of our time such as Loco Dice, Luciano, Chris Liebing, Josh Wink, and Tobi Neumann to name but a few. His natural raw underground sound will be a welcome presence at this showcase and is no doubt just another step on Rossko’s road to a very bright future.
