Bedrock 12 Birthday Party at O2 Academy Brixton

John Williams - Thursday 09.09.10, 12:14pm

Bedrock 12 Birthday party

Celebrating 12 years at the forefront of electronic dance music, delivered through the most prominent of club nights across the globe as well as via his excellent Bedrock record label, John Digweed will be hosting an unmissable anniversary show at Brixton’s O2 academy on October 2nd.

This event will incorporate an exclusive sound and visual experience never before seen at a Bedrock event and is set to be one of the biggest underground house and techno showcases in the capital in 2010. Having sold out the likes of Heaven and Matter over the years, as well as hosting a 5000 capacity arena at this summer’s South West Four, Bedrock turns its attention to one of London’s most legendary venues for the next chapter in its illustrious history.

Bedrock have just made the exiting announcement that a very special guest will be joining John Digweed in the Academy’s main room.

He is one of the biggest names in dance music, an irrepressible force who, alongside John, will ignite the Academy to new levels. Playing his final UK date of 2010 at Bedrock 12 will be the legendary Carl Cox.

Having been involved in the dance music scene seemingly forever, the veteran of acid house and champion of techno Carl Cox emits a love of his work that is dangerously infectious. Check him when he’s behind the turntables and you can’t mistake his ecstatic visage, his hands pumping the air whenever they’re not manipulating the turntables. As one of the founding fathers of the British house and techno scene Carl’s been there and done it all, but he’s never lost sight of the point of it… playing music, breaking tunes, spreading love, celebrating life.

As one of the most respected DJ’s in the world, John Digweed comes to Bedrock 12 to headline what will be the biggest Bedrock event to date and prove yet again why he has maintained a long-lasting presence as one of dance music’s most groundbreaking artists. From nights he has either created or been part of such as Bedrock, Northern Exposure and Renaissance, to his seminal record label and world renowned compilation mixes, John has consistently pushed the boundaries of forward thinking electronic music.

With this event coming off the back of the release of John’s ‘Structures’ mix compilation, 2010 marks a significant milestone in Bedrock’s history which will be celebrated in full at London most loved music venue.
