Earlier this year Baobinga & ID released the album, Big Monster. Among other praise, it received ‘album of the month‘ in both DJ & iDJ.
This month sees the release of two EP’s comprising of House and Dubstep remixes of tracks taken from the album.
Big Monster – The House Remix EP
Big Monster – The House Remix EP includes the tracks Like An Arrow, South Manchester Weather and The Machine. Two remixes of Like An Arrow, courtesy of Baobinga himself aka Samuel H Simpson – a deep tribal mix; with the Kill Light remix being a glitchy electro stonker!
South Manchester Weather has been given the trademark minimal techno treatment by Caninesounds, and Aquasky remixes The Machine with a straight 4/4 bassline floor-filler.
Big Monster – The Dubstep Remix EP
Big Monster – The Dubstep Remix EP includes dubstep flavoured remixes of South Manchester Weather, The Waterpark, Into The Air and The Machine by ID, Hektagon and DFRNT.
ID’s own dubtep remix of South Manchester Weather is bass heavy and full of low-end wobble and a lazy vibe.
Labelmate Hektagon remixes The Waterpark is an absorbing minimalistic experimental remix with a humming bass and electronica synth sounds blending together to give an eerie broken sci-fi theme.
Another Fat! Records labelmate, DFRNT remixes both Into The Air & The Machine. Both offer a big helping of dub electronica. Into The Air is reminiscent of Aphex Twin in a quiet moment and stretches the genre style of dubstep in an experimental way.
